GB&T wins MHT award
“Thanks to a thoughtful restoration overseen by Belinda Stewart Architect along with Adrenaline Experience Design Agency, the 1913 Wilson Banking Company Building is once again a bank. The masonry façade of the Beaux Arts building has been restored, along with the metal cornice, column capitals, cartouches and large windows with their distinctive stained-glass transoms, to become the new home of Guaranty Bank. During the restoration, the original interior mosaic tile floor, plaster beamed ceilings and glazed brick vault were exposed and restored to create an inviting space. This project is a great example of the power of historic buildings to energize downtowns and enhance community pride.”
