BLY Fine Arts Center
The BLY (Booth-Lacey-Yates) Fine Arts Center continues to be a special and unique venue for local band concerts, movies, theater productions, art gallery showings to exhibit and showcase local talent, art and culture. Eupora Arts, Inc. was founded in 2001 to solicit a Building Fund for the Arts grant as an incentive to start a local Arts Organization. The organization became immediately active and successful. Initial events included an evening of Pops featuring former Miss Mississippi Chalie Carroll Ray, a book signing and photography exhibit by Jack Kotz for his book “Mrs. Booth’s Garden” (which focuses on his grandmother in Mathiston), a street Fair in downtown Eupora highlighting local visual artists and musicians (featuring local blues performer Brown Sugar and her band) and 2 weeks of sold out performances of “Steel Magnolias”. Local folks came out of the woodwork to support the arts in Eupora and Webster County. Eupora Arts, Inc. has received official 501-c-3 not-for-profit status.
