School for Eupora, Mississippi

Eupora High School

To celebrate the beginning of a new school year, we at BSA would like to showcase the beautiful Historic Eupora High School. The building was constructed in 1938 through the Works Progress Administration (WPA) and designed by Jackson, Mississippi Architect E.L. Malvaney. The original 15 classroom building with laboratories, a large library and an auditorium was built “practically without decorative detail of any kind.” Over 70 years have passed since it was built and we still consider it a gem! An article in the periodical Architectural Concrete written about the school soon after it was completed can be found below.

Malvaney, E.L. “School for Eupora, Mississippi.” Architectural Concrete 7.4 (1941): 24-25.
